ReplayTV 0614
I have loaded this device into my URC9800 and I note what appears to be an error in the 3 minute skip function. It puts out 333QS instead of 3QS. Where is the code that created this function so I can fix it?

Re: ReplayTV 0614
Are you using the "hacked" version that supports the 3 minute skip function (I ask becasue you didn't provide a link to the file for me to check)? If so, the protocol upgrade is required as well... did you copy it into IR?e.axel wrote:I note what appears to be an error in the 3 minute skip function

Using hacked version. Every other key works fine. This key appears to have an eror in its programming. It looks like special efc were set up for these skips and they were programmed somewhere, somehow. I just want to know where this programming is and the method how it was developed. This is NOT a JP1 issue per se. It is an upgrade programming problem.
Thank you for replynig, Mark!

You're looking at them! Those ARE the function commands (EFC's). They tell the protocol executor how to send the infrared signal that the device will interpret as the command to perform (3 minute skip in this case).e.axel wrote:Where and how were these functions created?
You didn't answer my question, though. For those commands to work, the protocol code from the upgrade MUST also be copied over to IR. Did you do that?
Since I've never heard anyone else complain about this function (or any other Replay commands for that matter), I'm assuming this is a case of user error (like not copying the protocol code). And, since this upgrade and protocol was developed by Rob who is THE JP1 guru AND a Replay user, I'm sure the code is all ok.

Actually, this is the Mits-740 version of the code that he's using (in his URC-9800 remote), so I didn't write that.Mark Pierson wrote:And, since this upgrade and protocol was developed by Rob who is THE JP1 guru AND a Replay user, I'm sure the code is all ok.

Just an overall progress report (if anyone is interested).
Still no joy on the 0614. In addition to the 3 minute skip, I am also noticing a lot of multiple commands being transmitted with a single button push; i.e. when I call for a guide, it comes up, immediately goes away, comes back, etc. This is similar to the 3 minute skip transmitting 3 3s instead of one. I am wondering if the 0040 protocol used with this device code has some issue with the Mits-740 processor.
Since the 0616 (panasonic protocol)I have been working on does everything right, I am just going to abandon the other one.
I built 0616 (ReplayTV), 0864 (Sony DVD/VCR combo), 1490 (Samsung Sir-T451 HDTV Tuner) and installed them in the 9800 while I was waiting for my 8800 to come back from UEIC. They all work well. When the 8800 (with the official Replay, Samsung, and Sony codes installed) came back yesterday, I just downloaded and saved them and uploaded my working 9800 image into the 8800. I sold the late lamented Kameleon and will put the 9800 up for sale today.
As an aside, downloading and uploading (which had been giving me "no response" fits for a week) worked without incident yesterday.

There is where your problem comes in. The 0040 protocol is the replaytv simple protocol. The codes you where using are from replaytv advanced. Therefore the protocol would be 0145.e.axel wrote:This is similar to the 3 minute skip transmitting 3 3s instead of one. What exactly does "redid 0614 to use 0145 protocol" mean? Simply changing the selected protocol won't do anything. I asked you this before and never got an answer: did you copy the Protocol Code from KM and paste it into IR's Protocols tab? The Replay (Advanced) 0145 protocol is a "hacked" version which means it was written by one of the JP1 experts. It's not available in ANY remote unless the user puts it there.e.axel wrote:Redid 0614 to use 0145 protocol. No change.
