Looking for info on how to setup Atlas OCAP 1056

Post by gregnash »

to control my Tivo

Finally got my Atlast 1056 from ebay and my JP1.x cable from Tommy. I have downloaded the IR.exe and RM applications. I have downloaded the information from the remote so I have a backup and have the ability to play with it but I can find no documentation for it to control a tivo box (Series 2).

Thanks for your help ahead of time as I am sure that I will be back

Thanks Rob I did find that last night after I wrote the original message and began working my way through it. However, the 1056 is NOT a learning remote is it? I thought that there were some that were learning remotes but I cannot seem to find that original post anywhere (probably right under my nose).

One question though. I have downloaded RemoteMaster and every time I open it up it gives me a "No RDF File found" error? However, I have downloaded all the RDF files like specified in the beginners guide and placed them within the RemoteMaster main folder. I have set the RDF path in IR to point to that folder but still get the error? Is there something I am doing wrong or is KM easier to use?

See if built-in vcr code 0618 or 20618 will work for now.

You only need a learning remote to capture the signals from a new device that we haven't seen before. The Tivo was one of the very first device upgrades that we created when we started the JP1 group back in late 2000, so I think we've got you covered with upgrades for that. Plus, as Edmund points out, there are a couple of built-in codes that will probably work it.

Ok was finally able to find the file section (like I said was under my nose and didnt even see it) so I downloaded the upgrades for the Tivo and the Master File you created for the Vizio TVs. It is late so I am going to have to test this out in the morning.

Quick question though... I am using KM and when I hit the "Goto IR" button it does nothing. I think I accidentally disable this function, so how do I turn it back on?

On the Tools menu select, Macro, Macros..., and then run the AutoRunIR macro.

Ok got that running, thanks Mark.

Now I ran into something different. The main tab in IR is now only showing the Download/Upload buttons (General Tab) I have lost the stuff that was up top showing me all the codes that were currently in use.

I have looked through that settings and cannot seem to find where it was turned off. Any ideas?

Did you download the RDF files and tell IR where to find them?

Yeah I set the IRPath in the Set Directory area.

I'll bet that you have inadvertently re-sized your windows ands completely obliterated that portion of the view in the General Tab. If I understand you correctly, you used to have IR look like

and now it looks like

Am I correct?

You need to place your cursor directly above the UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD button, and it should change shape, allowing you to click and drag down the top edge of the UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD/"Notes" section of the display, and exposing the "Device Buttons" and "Other Settings" sections.

You are right and I did see the cursor change when I found that area but I was not able to change the screen. One thing that may be a factor is that I am doing this on my laptop with the release client (RC7100) of Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, so that may play a role in the issues that I have been having. I am going to try both RM and KM on my main Vista desktop to see what happens.
