Not sure if this helps any of the experts around here with figuring out the codes for this remote... found this post on another forum but not sure if its of any help:

I found that the HD8000 remote codes are multiples of FF. After trying all of the possible codes I found that there is no OFF or ON command within the firmware of the box. Perhaps the firmware could have the OFF and ON codes added in a future update. The following are all of the possible codes and the ones that I identified.

All of the following are the last 4 digits of the remote code that follow the main code (900A 006D 0000 0001 7D37)

00ff - 0
01FE - 1

When you say that you tried the Sonicview 1000, does that mean that you tried the Sonicview PVR 1000 as found here:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3836

or the Sonicview SV-1000 as found here:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3688

Either way, both devices use the standard NEC1 protocol (though with different device codes), which means your unit also uses the NEC1 protocol. Therefore, given that you have (a) a learning JP1 remote, (b) a JP1 cable and (c) the original Sonicview remote, I'm curious as to why you haven't tried learning the buttons yourself to see what codes they use.

Well, here's how it's explained in the thread that the Capn linked you to...
10. Learning remote question?
If you don't have a learning JP1 remote or you no longer have the original OEM remote, just put "n/a" for this question.

However, if you do still have the original remote AND your UEI remote is a learning remote AND you have a JP1 cable, please state what is stopping you from capturing the signals yourself and using that data to create an upgrade? If you've tried and not had any success, please describe what problems you encountered.

If you've tried learning the buttons, but IR.exe doesn't display any useful info (eg, it lists some sort of "gap" protocol, or no protocol at all), please post a copy of the IR file that contains the learned signals in the Diagnosis Area, then post the template (and a link to the file) in the Protocol Decodes forum. This is where the experts really earn their stripes, as we'll try to decode the signals and create an upgrade to replicate them.
Rather than just say "Not sure what is meant by this" why don't you explain which particular part wasn't clear and we'll try to re-write it in clearer language.

It seems the learning functionality of my remote has stopped working, hence why I haven't attempted to learn the signals - it won't work. I checked to ensure I still have free memory on the remote for learning new keys and it has plenty, with 441 free. Apparently, I've read through this forum that other owners of the 8811 remote have experienced the same issues with the learning ability of the remote, that after a while, it stops functioning. I've tried the set button with 975 etc and it blinks fast for a few seconds but doesn't matter how many times I press the buttons on the other remote, it simply won't learn any more... strange.

I attempted to use the Sonicview 1000 PVR codes and very few of the buttons work, only ones that worked were channel up and channel down. I believe 2 others worked but performed the wrong function. For example, the sideways button brought up the menu... things of that nature.

Actually...figured out the problem... silly mistake really, forgot to change the remote type after loading the file into keymaster... can't believe I made such a silly mistake.

Thanks for the help at any rate...

As mentioned, got it working great... just wondering, is there a way to find out what the code is for the EXIT button. It's not mapped in the Sonicview 1000 PVR keymap master file... Any help would be appreciated.

Can you learn it from the OEM remote to the 8810? If so, check the learned signal tab in IR for the EFC and then add that to your upgrade and reload it into the remote.

One last follow-up question... is there a way to make it so that keymoves are available for use when using HomeTheatre mode? For example, I have some key moves specified for the M1 through M4 keys under the SAT device.

However, I have to hit the SAT button first in order to use these. THey won't work when in HT mode. On the other hand, I've noticed that Learned Keys will in fact work in HT mode.

Any way of converting them to learned keys or a better way of setting up some of these key moves so they can function in HT mode? As mentioned, the learning functionality of my remote no longer works but I do have a working JP1 parallel connection.

Unfortunately, the learning functionality of my remote no longer seems to function properly. I would need to us IR or Keymap Master to get the codes onto the remote but just don't know what the code is for the EXIT button.

Save your current configuration in IR and then try resetting the remote using the 9-8-1 command to see if that helps restore learning. If it does, then you can learn the signasl you need, update your upgrade, and restore everything back to the remote.

Based on the list you posted above:
A857 - Exit
Try EFC 222 (OBC 166) for the Exit command.

You'll notice that the first 2 hex digits in that list seem to match the OBC's in the upgrade when converted to decimal.
