Hmm... Clearly I'm misunderstanding the tool here...
Do you really know the characteristics of your devices well enough to program the 8910 without decoding any learned signals?
I thought the point of these RM/KM files was so I didn't NEED to know that information... I probably need a little clarification on this, cause it doesn't jive with what I thought I understood about this jp1 process. I thought these RM/KM files contained all the known codes available for a given device... Instead of "learning" a code and correlating a button to the learned memory location, we upload the code directly in the EEPROM (or whatever) of the device. It's all handled by the software... no "learning" required. Where did I go wrong?
Just FYI, that file has got nothing to do with the Slingbox. That file is an old copy of the IR image from my 15-1994 remote. Mark (the author of IR) decided to include it as an example of what an IR image looks like. It's been in the IR zip files since the beginning.
Heh. I was doing too many things at once and got a little confused... In fact, I still am a little confused. In RemoteMaster, there is a "Layout" tab that has a picture of a remote (that looks nothing like my 8910) along with the functions available to be bound to various buttons. I was thinking it got the remote layout from FromRob.IR, but I realize I didn't open that file from within RemoteMaster - only IR. Currently, the Slingbox with UEI JU Chip is the only remote I can open and work with in RemoteMaster. What I'm hoping to be able to do is download a file somewhere that will allow me to select a vanilla/factory URC-8910 as my remote without having to download my current remote. Then map whatever functions to whatever buttons from within RemoteMaster.
Also, are you aware of the fact that your URC-8910 has a modem inside?
No, I wasn't aware. Thanks!
