It just means that YOUR remote is a URC-7562 B00 and uses that rdf. Soo now you know what rdf to use.son_t wrote: I have just reset the remote: Magic (**) 981.
I used IR to download the settings. It has chosen this RDF:
URC-7550 Black 5 Device/7552 Silver 5 Device/7560-B01 Black 6 Device/7562 Silver 6 Device One for All
I believe that is the EBV0EB1? What does this mean then? The code inside the battery cover says URC-7562 B00 (C F9X CF-C0C9 DC).
If you think downloading a bunch of upgrades via wav, wading through them to decide which one is best, deleting the remaining ones, and then repeating this for 5 devices is somehow "simplest", I would respectfully disagree with you. That sounds like a very time-consuming process, and you still end up with upgrades that OFA made, that may not be exactly to your liking.son_t wrote: So what is the next level?
I was trying to program the remote to control these devices (before I was rudely interupted by the remote going into 'no response' mode):
1 Panasonic TV, 2 Yamaha AV reciever, 3 Humax PVR, 4 No name Xbox, 5 Metronic Sat, 6 Philips CD player.
I know there are no codes for the Humax yet (but aldaweb submitted this https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2687 file).
My plan was to upgrade my remote via the OFA site with wav's, delete the unwanted codes using the cable and IR and install the Humax controls from above... Is this the simplest way without getting 'nitty-gritty' with this JP1 business?
As for fearing the "nitty-gritty' of the JP1 tools, you're already there! 8) You're already using IR to talk to your remote. You will HAVE to use RM to use that Humax file you've located. (If you wish, you can choose KM instead, and there's another Humax file that is a KM file). The main differences are for KM, you must have Excel installed and the Analysis Toolpack add-in installed. For RM, you must install (free download) Java Runtime Environment. RM provides a more intuitive input, but it depends on you which you prefer. You might as well locate upgrades for EACH of your devices in the file section, tailor them to your taste in RM, and upload them all to your remote (and I'd wager it will be more efficient and provide an end result you like better than 5 OFA-created upgrades).
1 Panasonic TV, (21 Panny upgrades to choose from)
2 Yamaha AV reciever, (28 Yamaha upgrades)
3 Humax PVR, you've found above - there's another you might use that's a KM file rather than an RM file
4 No name Xbox,
5 Metronic Sat,
6 Philips CD player(3 choices)
I didn't see any upgrades for the Metronic nor the xBox, but with IR and a learning remote, creating upgrades from scratch is pretty simple too, once you've got all of the tools installed.
