RM won't allow entry of Pioneer MIX Functions

Post by Andy »

Or maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, Greg (wouldn't be the first time !)...

Starting from a clean sheet:
Remote: URC-7544 2K Version (or any ?)
Protocol: Pioneer MIX
Device 1: 170
Device 2: 175
Cmd 1 (OBC): 174
CMD 2 (OBC): <none>
Now the text at the bottom of the Setup tab tells me to select "single or "double" in the "style" column on the Functions tab. But there is no "style" column. If I click on the "Prefix Device" column I get a drop-down box that offers a choice of <blank>, "none" or "170", but selecting 170 fills in the box with "none". So there seems to be no way of getting a "double" style command.

The same upgrade works o.k. in KM, but I really want to get it working with a remote that KM doesn't support yet.

thanks

Andy

Andy,

There's definitely something wrong with RM's support for the Pioneer Mix protocol. Unfortunately, it'll be at lease a week before I can take a look at it. Maybe John will get a chance before I do.

Thanks, Greg

I'm not in a big hurry, won't be around for a week or two. For now it's nice to know it's not just me !

Andy,

I'm working on this now. Is there a KM upgrade file I can take a look at?

Most Pioneer Plasma TVs use the MIX protocol.

I've just released RM v1.22, which takes care of this.

Well, it seems it works unless the target is URC-6131 !

In KM, for most remotes, using the settings in my original post, then:
Fixed Data = AA 8A 0A FA
but the moment I select the remote as "URC-6131 PVR", then it changes:
Fixed Data = AA 8A FA 00 00 0A
I can't pretend I understand why this is, but it works.

In RM (I tried 1.24a as well), the fixed data stays at AA 8A 0A FA, and for the 6131 this does not result in an upgrade that works.

Not a big problem for me, KM works for the 6131, so I can get a good upgrade. Just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks

Andy

The 6131 contains a different (newer) variant of the Pioneer MIX protocol. I'd have to guess that RM's protocols.ini file doesn't support it (yet). Give the RM guys some time and it will likely be corrected.

Correct. It is also going to require updated RDFs for the 6131 to indicate that the new variant is built in.

Nils, if you are watching, and assuming KM has it right, the following remotes need the [Protocols] section of their RDFs updated to use 007E:3 instead of 007E:2 or 007E

URC-6131
URC-9960
Atlas DVR
15-2138

Greg, my records indicate we were going to do this change to the RDFs for the 007E protocol back in RDF v1.17. Guess it must have slipped throught the cracks. I agree with your list of changes.

RM v1.25 has support for variant 3 of the Pioneer MIX protocol.

Andy, if you want to take advantage of this fix, you can make the corrections to your RDFs yourself, and then Pick up the official versions later when Nils releases RDFs again.
