Hi,
I just bought a URC-8910 remote off ebay. Since it did not work with my Reciever (Yamaha HTR 5650), I am thinking of going the JP1 route to upgrade it.
I downloaded the keymap file for this reciever (Yamaha HTR-5650-5640 HTR Receiver.txt),
and opened it with Keymap-master V8.30. Followed the instructions, selected my remote type as URC-9910 / 8910 / UEI HTPro.
When I switched to the Buttons tab, I saw that buttons 0 through 7 were assigned two codes - a "Function" and a "Shift-Function".
What are the Shift Functions?
When I upgrade my 8910 with this code, How will I access these Shift Functions on the remote? I did not notice a shift key on the remote.
Thanks

You access the shift-functions by pressing (and releasing) the Set/Setup/Magic key before pressing the desired key.

In an unextended remote, shifting the numeric buttons requires pressing the "shift" button TWICE prior the the desired numeral. Otherwise, the remote thinks you're trying to do a direct-entry EFC.gfb107 wrote:You access the shift-functions by pressing (and releasing) the Set/Setup/Magic key before pressing the desired key.
