OK, I'm ticked. Really ticked.

I come here expecting education and entertainment. There is plenty of education here, but there is absolutely no entertainment.

I am used to going to forums and having a little fun., Funny people fighting with keystrokes againt each other. It's entertaining.

But not here, no way. All this forum does is solve peoples problems. It's the same old thread time after time. In short: "Here is my problem..." then: "Thank you so much for the solution...".

It's predictable. It's boring.

(Jon would be proud.)

Now here is the bad part: it's also addictive. I used to enjoy going to forums and watching the fights. But now that just isn't any fun for me anymore.

Now I come HERE to look for the last (and usual) post that includes profuse thanks and then states that everything works now. Apparently I prefer that over the cheap amusement of conflicts, maybe just because it makes me feel good.

What is the matter with me?

Ya'll owe me. Big time.

(Or, just maybe, it could be the other way around.)

Yeah, these forums do lack a certain excitement don't they, it's sure boring being a moderator here! But if it's real excitement that you're looking for, look no further than the home installer forums over at AVS, things can get real heated over there!!!

ps. Thanks for the lil sum'n extra that you sent!

Jamesgammel, convinced me to join the old yahoo group and taught me how to solder! So you can add my membership here, to your list of grievances against him too!

That certainly would liven things up! I kept him around longer than I probably should have because he did have some useful info to contribute, even though I was getting loads many emails complaining about him, but eventually he directed one of his rants at me, so I knew his time was up.

Even after that I would still help him via email until he directed an email rant at me, at which point I cut him loose completely.

Well...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm off to plug "jamesgammel" into the search box to see if my humdrum existence can be uplifted,

Scandal on the JP1 forums, here I come...

Thanks Cap'n

It's been a long day here, and that link has certainly saved me a bit of trawling...

Initially, I'm particularly impressed with:
Yeah Rob, you created an upgrade in spite of the warnings I tried to convey.
as an example of gratitude for free help, but I probably won't get my complete fill of amusement until tomorrow when I have half an hour or so to read it all properly

But really, thanks for the clue...

Ok

I read it all now

(us Aussies don't need sleep - it's for wimps)

It needs to be stickied as an example of the right way to thank people for giving up their free time to help people they've never even met

Otherwise who knows where this pathetic little venture could end...

@Robman

Having read that thread, I need time with your therapist.

You kept your cool all the way to the end

I can never do that

(Don't link the other 30000 times you did that) - I feel inadequate enough, already

I am not an idiot.
There is no button on the OEM remote that I can find which controls the
"output mode". I am asking if anyone else has been able to find a code
which does (discrete or otherwise).
See, those discrete codes...

That was the problem

If only those codes could be a little less discrete, then they'd be so much easier to find...

and nobody would have to jump in without any knowledge of the subject and be a
smarta$$
You have to see his point
