I was under the impression that IR could read these remotes. Using IR6.20 and it will not interface correctly.
Am I mistaken with this? _________________ Paul |

The Comcast is a JP1.1 remote. IR 7.x beta along with a JP1.x interface are required to read/write to it. _________________ Mark |

The URC-1067A is a JP1.2 remote. |

I see I've been out of touch for a while. Will IR 7 and the new interface still work with the older JP1 remotes? _________________ Paul |

IR7 will work with both but the interfaces themselves aren't interchangeable due to hardware differences. _________________ Mark |

And just in case you missed it in the earlier replies, even if you use IR 7, you will still need a new serial JP1.x cable (and be aware that some of the new cables on the market are just JP1.2 cables and will not work with JP1.1 remotes). _________________ Rob

So does IR7 work with the old cable? Or do I need a new JP1.x cable that works both old and new remotes? _________________ Paul |

For a JP1 remote, you need a standard JP1 cable.
For a JP1.2 remote, you need a JP1.2 or JP1.x cable.
For a JP1.1 remote, you need a JP1.x cable. | And IR 7 works with ALL of them. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

OK, this thread says that the 1067a is a JP1.1, and JP1.2. Which is it? I want to buy the right cable. When I look at the pin connector, it shows JP1, and 1067ABG1-B005.
Thanks for the help. _________________ Victor |

It's a JP1.2. I've made the JP1.x cable and used it to program it, so I'm pretty sure. Actually, I've read somewhere that if you open up the remote, the rest of that label you mentioned is shown to say "JP1.2" |
