Which items do you need me to document?

  • Where are the corrected digitmaps for the 10820/8820?
  • What are the new multi-byte digitmaps? I understand how they work, I think, but have they been documented somewhere? Does IR support them?
  • Details on any new protocol variants. Code, device and command parameteres, etc.

This was a KM issue that won't affect RM. KM was not recognizing the higher-numbered entries, and only affected these two remotes as a result.

I don't think they have been documented beyond what we said in that other post. IR will automatically "support" them in the respect that it will pass on the upgrade to the remote correctly. It may not display the decoding of the upgrade correctly until it recognizes them.

I'll work on that & post the info as soon as I have it in a readable form.

Bug report

Post by Capn Trips »

The Cleanup function on the functions sheet of KM9.02 seems to not work quite properly.

The first indication is that one gets a Microsoft Visual Basic pop-up window informing of a run-time error 1004, referring to the write-protection of the sheet. Further, some function NAMES get deleted even though they have EFCs assigned.

First of all, thanks Mark and Mike for what looks like a huge undertaking here.

Now, few troubles I see as well
With this upgrade file, I played with Cleanup a bit
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3482
I unprotected the sheet taking a clue from Capn Trips' comment.
1. As loaded, it was in EFC mode (EFC3 I guess) the external function calls got OBC and hex deleted by Cleanup. There is one up front (power) and a bunch in higher rows.
2. I restarted KM, reloaded the old file, clicked OBC on the Functions sheet, then the external function still have hex missing, comments no longer belong to the lines where they should belong to, and other than OBC, the other columns aren't right, and I see a bunch of #NUM errors.

This is based on a very quick look, I'll look more later.
Running on Windows2000, Excel 9.0.6926 SP-3.

EditedIt might be that EFC mode is required if external functions are used, but I didn't think so.

Could the Cleanup be something like this: If function name is blank or (function name not blank and notes exist) leave it alone? That would fix misalignment which I think occured because of blank lines and placeholders.

Is the OBC/EFC switch on the Setup sheet invisible? or is it now on the Functions sheet exclusively?

I guess I overlooked updating the Cleanup button, so there will definitely have to be a KM v9.03 now. :P

No, it should work in all modes.
ElizabethD wrote:Is the OBC/EFC switch on the Setup sheet invisible? or is it now on the Functions sheet exclusively?
It is gone completely from the Setup sheet. For those protocols that require a specific mode, a warning will show on the Setup sheet if the Functions sheet is in the wrong mode.

I guess I overlooked Mike's overlook!

It's a simple fix and I'll post an update in a few minutes...

Cool. Cleanup looks fixed to me :D

It's easy to be on this end of the stick while you two work your heads off.
In any case, Cleanup of entries with external functions, one & two byte protocols, switching obc and efc, some on 6131 extended, not extended so far put out the same upgrades as the old versions did. I can't comment on EFC5.
