John, would you be so kind to look at this post:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... 4959#p34959
In that thread, Rob created an upgrade for an iMon remote, which uses some very hard-to-decode protocol. However, that upgrade doesn't work. Rob reckons that, once you've taken a look at it, you'll be able to get it to work in five minutes.
I'm very sorry to harass you experts with this request, but my HTPC life would be so much simpler if I can control this device with my OFA 6. If I could do it myself, I wouldn't ask...
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Hans

I'll try to get to it soon. But I don't think it will be as easy as Rob estimates.
One delaying factor is that I prefer to use my IR sensor cable to see what really gets sent rather than guess the effect of the code. I have the shell off my IR sensor cable and a couple extra jumpers in it, because I was trying to diagnose why I can't use it on my newest computer. IR.EXE works fine, so I think the printer port is correctly accesable. But Digitrace and CaptureIr don't work, apparently they're not getting the printer port into the right state.
I've been procrastinating on my project of building a second combined cable for IR.EXE and CaptureIr, so that I'll actually have a cable when I find a chunk of time to work on these things (Murphy's law has worked pretty well at making me guess wrong about where I'll next want the cable, so it's always in the wrong place).

Given that you're capture ability is out of commission right now, maybe you could just take a peek at the signal that the user captured and then look at my code to see if I made any silly mistakes.
Even though the overall protocol is very complicated and would require an enourmous coding effort to get it implemented, if you look at the POWER button in isolation, it's just a regular 4-burst IR signal, like the kind we've seen many times.

See other thread. I looked the first time and concluded I couldn't follow the intent of your code. This time I looked more carefully and asked about the thing that doesn't make sense to me.The Robman wrote:Given that you're capture ability is out of commission right now, maybe you could just take a peek at the signal that the user captured and then look at my code to see if I made any silly mistakes.

To save people having to loop all over the place, the original thread on this subject is here:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4626
My post announcing the PB file within that thread is here and the PB file itself is here.
The thread that Hans linked to above is for a version of the iMon that uses the NEC protocol, so it's not relevant here.
John posted his response to that thread, so I just moved it to the main thread that I linked to above. I will continue the conversation in that thread.
I just did some further tidying up and moved all the posts concerning the new protocol from that thread to the main thread.
