RC6-M-20n Protocol support in RM for HCS08(JP1.2) processor?

Post by Capn Trips »

I'm trying to modify and adapt my Sky+ Satellite box upgrade for an Atlas 5-device DVR/PVR (Day) 1025 JP1.2 remote. Unfortunately, when I switch the remote to the Atlas 1025 remote in RM, I get pop-ups that the protocol cannot be calculated.

I presume that I need this protocol for the HCS08 added to protocols.ini, right?

Help?

Does SAT/0847 work in remotes like the URC-8820? If it does, you can re-create your upgrade using "Manual Settings" with fixed data "A9 30 55 55 55" and the following protocol code...

20 16 24 4B 51 8E 04 08 08 00 DD 00 00 00 00 00 DE EE CA 05 34 01 C9 04 01 61 08 45 27 50 35 A7 CD FF 6E B6 65 AE 08 CD FF 8C BF 65 B7 66 6E 02 A9 6E 05 AA CD FF 5F 45 01 2E CD FF 74 11 25 CD FF 92 25 F0 81

Rob, those data you provided for the HCS08 processor for the RC6-M-20n protocol seem to be insufficient for me to use in either KM or RM (like I don't know LSB vs MSB, Comp vs, not, ..) I've tried and tried and figure out where to put them.

How do I turn that into a device/protocol upgrade? Or do I just paste the data you gave me directly into IR and use the device upgrade from the INCORRECT processor upgrade file?

     OK, never mind

I was SO tunnel-visioned on RM that I didn't bother to try KM (except to immediately go to manual settings and try to wrestle through that setup). KM has the RC6-M-20n protocol for the HCS08 processor built-in.  I've built the upgrade and it works.

Sorry about the brain fart!

I guess I better download an updated version of KM because I couldn't find it.

For a temporary work around on the extender, we could use some other key to activate the extender, and then keymove the power function to some other key for now.

Thanks for testing it. Now if I could only remember who it was that asked for it to be added to KM.

Hey there, wise guy! Did I mention tunnelvision?

Although in all fairness to myself (and who will be fair to me if not me?) THAT request was for a JP1 (S3C80 processor) remote not JP 1.2. Just because you happened to add the HCS08 supoprt at the same time isn't MY fault.

(but thanks just the same  )

I'm OK with that plan, and might I recommend the PIP ON-OFF button to be the "temporary-for-testing-purposes" Power button, since I have no PIP functionality/capability in ANY of my devices, and those buttons at the bottom are unused in all of my setups. (I put my discretes on PIP Ch+/-, for example)
