Hello all,
I just bought a Toshiba 37HLC56 LCD TV. I'm finding that discretes are hard to come by for Toshibas, and my TV does not respond to 006/010 for discrete on/off. However, I might have access to discretes for inputs. The sales sheet for my TV indicates the following for my TV:
"Direct Video Input Selection
Benefit: Inputs can now be directly selected from the remote's numbered keypad without scrolling through all the inputs."
I'd like to take advantage of this with my 8910. However, 1) I can't figure out how to do this even with the original remote and 2) the owner's manual for TV doesn't describe the process.
Anybody here have a clue? Thanks in advance.
Toshiba TV and "Direct Video Input Selection"

You probably need to press the INPUT button followed by a numeric button.

As I read the owner's manual to a similar Tosh TV (see pg 56-57), you have to first assign each input to a numerical position on the list from 1-7, and then select that input as Rob stated, by pressing "input" followed by the number corresponding to that input.
Now I don't have one of these, so I really don't know, but it seems pretty straightforward from reading THIS owner's manual. Of course, I could not find YOUR owner's manual, so perhaps your TV is completely different.

Thanks for finding that. Unfortunately, I think my TV IS completely different, as there seems to be no way to assign a number to each input (nor are they pre-assigned like the 37HL95 you mentioned). Thanks Toshiba!Capn Trips wrote:As I read the owner's manual to a similar Tosh TV (see pg 56-57), you have to first assign each input to a numerical position on the list from 1-7, and then select that input as Rob stated, by pressing "input" followed by the number corresponding to that input.
