UR5-8400 jp1 capable?

Post by kabrera »

Does anyone have this remote with a connector inside? Mine has a space for a connector but no holes for it, so I'm not sure if I take it apart and it will hhave the holes available to be drilled?

I found this software today for this remote and I got a little curious.. about if this supports jp1 features aswell.

No remotes made by the "Universal Remote Control" company are JP1 remotes, only remotes made by UEI (Universal Electronics, Inc) are JP1.

Any idea what that program on that weblink is used for then, it has serial communication settings and defaults to a picture of that remote.

It mentions a device called "Upgrade Link" to connect to pc via usb and looks like there is another connection to the remote.

It's some sort of programmable remote, but it is NOT compatible with JP1. All of the info here won't do you any good trying to program that model, and I doubt anyone here has any real world experience with it.

That's kinda like asking the guys at the Toyota dealership what the switch on your Honda is for. Bottom line, it's very unlikely that anyone here will know the answer. You'll be more likely to find answers at remotecentral.com.
