Remote is not keeping entered code

Post by kulla »

Hi all,

I have received today usb JP1 interface and start playing with my dreambox remote.

When I program macro it works great, but when I try to program aux as audio device and enter code, information is being uploaded to remote without error, but when I download it, values are old ones.

So no matter what I change I have:

# Device buttons Type Code
1. Dream Sat 0031
2. Tv Tv 0586
3. Aux1 VCR/DVD 0111
4. Aux2 Audio 0030

No matter what I change type or code, last 2 devices remain same when I do download form remote.

Tnx for help

Are you talking about AUX1 or AUX2? Have you tried entering the code on the remote itself? If you're talking about AUX1, you would first need to use the 992 command to change it from VCR mode to AUDIO mode.

It's possible that the remote won't let you change the mode.

I'm talking about both of them, same thing happens.

I have made little progress with file from 620 but not all buttons are working.

It seems that remote will let you have another code only if you have that aux device added in devices list. Maybe this is normal way of doing it?

Anyway, I thought maybe I can take original remote and pocket pc, learn pocket remote controller for it, and then convert ccf file to .txt for using with rm and so on.

Do you think that that will work?

Tnx for help

Uhh... what is "file from 620"? If it's a file in the device upgrade section of the file area, you have to provide a link or nobody will find it.

Are the device codes you are trying to use built-in to the Dreambox? If not, then yes, you must add a device upgrade to the device upgrade area of IR (and possibly a protocol upgrade)

I have no idea. One of the experts will.

Why don't you upload the problem IR file to the diagnosis area and post a link to it here and someone may spot something simple.

Sorry, link to the AX-620 file is here.

I think that Dream remote doesn't have all those codes in it.

So I will need to learn it new protocol too instead of just programing it with upgrade?!

Could you provide a more detailed description of what you mean please. If you've found a good solution, it might help someone else, and if you've done something that could cause you problems later, someone might be able to let you know about it now.

I have tried different hex codes in remote. From AX-620 2 keys worked on my amp E7 and 57. Then I have tried with different codes for other buttons and figured out that 7 is power off/on and keys from 1 to 6 goes in these hex values: 17 67 E7 57 97 D7, volume up/down hex codes are A7/27

The only thing is that I haven't manage to get power buton to work, but I fixed that with adding one key move.

I will upload latter today file for keymap master for this remote, it can be usefull for someone else.
