JP1.2 Status?

Any word on when JP1.2 software & hardware will be available?
I work for a custom AV house in Anchorage, AK and have been working with Elan VIA Panels, Pronto's and some Crestron panels for about 4 years now. Just finally learning about JP1 stuff though. Trying to come up with a custom UEI remote for our business that will contain all of our codes for all of our products. Basically make one and just clone it.
But I'd prefer to wait until the JP1.2 stuff comes out so that I don't have to do it twice.
Big thanks to the founders of this forum it's been a killer resource for info (the only one I've found actually).
Also looking for a vendor to supply ~100 8-10 device learning remotes with button backlights and enough mem to store ~50 learned commands.
Yes, I know some learned commands are longer than others.

DIY Gadget is selling JP 1.2 cables

IR 7.00 supports JP1.x

RM has embedded beta IR functionality that communicates with JP 1.x remotes

Bottom line: JP1.1 and 1.2 support is here, via IR, RM, KM and the prototype Java-IR (included in RM) although the number of remotes whose rdf's have been defined is small.

I have built the interface and downloaded my URC-8206 JP1.2 remote with IR.EXE. Now I want to start playing with Keymap Master but the remote is not listed in KM.

How do I proceed?

Can you use RemoteMaster instead of KM? (You can if you install the right version of Sun Java on your computer).

I'm not sure of the status of 8206 support in either KM or RM. But generally RM just needs a correct rdf file to support a new remote, where KM needs internal modifications.

So far it seems to work. For anyone else using the URC-8206 the map file is not included in the standard Images zip but aberguerand has posted it here https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3115

I have a JP1.2 Remote Master File that has the ELAN codes.

It doesn't specifically have the control codes for the Via panels, but it has the codes for all the rack components. I have 10 Zpads (Z100+Z150), a system 6, Z880, Z600 comm controller, and 3 Z660 amps. I normally use my JP1/JP1.2 remotes to control the system through IR recievers. With one touch of a macro, the system fires up all the components required for the device selected and switches the Z880 and S6 accordingly.

The Via learner/ViaTools I bought hasn't proved to be very useful in my case for programming the pads. I get more use from the remotes.

Unfortunately we are using Z630 Preamps and not the System6.
I'm not entirely sure if the Z630's can be switched via IR.

VIA Tools is pretty much a disaster in terms of programming and ease of use. I banged my head against a wall for about 4 months before I finally got a solid workable interface. If you've got the patience to sit thought the learning curve, modify the GUI to make the subpage flipping more intuitive once you've picked a device, and tested EVERY SINGLE WIRE....then you will actually end up with an extremely reliable system.

You should be able to control the Z630 through the IR pin. The only bad thing with the Z630 is the IR pin moves on the RJ45 connector for each of the three zones (1,2, 3). My file was based on a CCF from the Z630 so it should handle them fine.

I've figured out the ViaTools. I don't have any touch panels so technically a Z090 would work, but the user interface on the ViaTools is a little better--just a little. I have the z100s programmed (at least most of my zones). I need to do some updates, but it such a pain because I don't have a laptop for walking around the house. I made a looooooong cat-5 extension cable for the learner wire that I patch from my desktop. I've figured out that the learner has a cable length limit though.

Do you know if they have any updates to the tools? I have 5.4.0.17 from earlier this year.

One of these days I'd like to get a couple more Z-880 and have component video switching. I'd need to get some baluns to run the signal over cat5, but I
