Friedrich Air Conditioner

If you have learned signals that don't get decoded when you look at them in IR.exe, post your file to the Diagnosis Area then post your question here (including a link to the file).

This upgrade contains all the OBCs from 0 thru 36 (test all the buttons except for SLEEP and the 3 PIP buttons).

Upgrade Code 0 = 17 D0 (DVD/2000) Friedrich Air Conditioner (KM v8.37)
F8 00 FE FE FE E1 03 D7 39 FF F7 F7 FF F7 7F F7
3F F7 DF F7 5F F7 9F F7 1F F7 EF F7 6F F7 AF F7
2F F7 CF F7 4F F7 8F F7 0F F7 F7 F7 17 F7 BB F7
07 F7 57 F7 E7 F7 D7 F7 47 F7 C7 F7 7B F7 87 F7
67 F7 A7 F7 FB F7 97 F7 27 F7 77 F7 37 F7 B7 F7
3B F7 DB
End

This one covers OBCs in the range 96 thru 135:

Upgrade Code 0 = 17 D1 (DVD/2001) Friedrich Air Conditioner (KM v8.37)
F8 00 FE FE FE E1 03 D7 39 FF F7 F7 F9 F7 79 F7
B9 F7 39 F7 D9 F7 59 F7 99 F7 19 F7 E9 F7 69 F7
A9 F7 29 F7 89 F7 09 F7 F1 F7 71 F7 E1 F7 5E F7
BE F7 91 F7 21 F7 51 F7 FE F7 01 F7 DE F7 7E F7
C1 F7 41 F7 3E F7 11 F7 81 F7 B1 F7 D1 F7 31 F7
9E F7 1E
End

If you don't get any hits from either of those upgrades, it's probably not worth testing the rest of the ranges.

If the POWER button that you learned is just a "power off" button, how do you turn the unit on?

There is only one Power button on the remote -- it knows if it is on or off and sends the correct signal. I learned Power On onto Shift Power, but it is a bad learn. But you can look at it.

Thanks -- Vincent

PS Get back to you after I do the testing.

I'm getting "Invalid character in input" when I try to OK these to upgrades after copying them into IR. (Why o why doesn't Windows make error messages copyable?) I copied everything from Upgrade through End.

It looks exactly the same as the '0' button. Hopefully one of the OBCs in the test upgrades will be the "power on" code.

Rather than trying to figure out what you're doing wrong, I just loaded them into IR myself and have loaded the file here...

I assigned the first one to the VCR button and the second one to the DVD button.

Did you do them one at time? I just tried and didn't have any problem.

Yes, one at a time -- one was an edit and the other an add. Tried twice each.

But after your response, I tried again and they both worked.

None of these did anything. That was a surprise. I put 2000 on SAT and 2001 on CBL. SAT did not light the LED for Exit and the three VOL buttons. CBL didn't for Enter. None did for L, M and PIP rows.

Just to eliminate the possibility of user error, could you try the file that I loaded instead please.

The M and L buttons are not part of any keymap so those will never be part of an upgrade. The PIP buttons are only in the TV keymap, so those are not included in the VCR upgrades that I created either.

This one, https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3015 , only has the five buttons which work fine.

Sorry, my bad, I loaded the wrong file. I just re-loaded it, so try again.

The only button which got a response was VCR-2. I tried all buttons with the air conditional both on and off. Most buttons on the original do nothing when it is off. But VCR-2 got a beep in both cases.

That beep and a light was the only effect which I could see. No button on the original did the same. There are some protected (needing a stylus) buttons on the original which I didn't try.

Weren't the five known EFCs in that test set?

Could you try learning them also please.

No, I deliberately skipped them.

I tried, wasn't too successful. I tried to learn the remaining eight buttons. Most of them wouldn't learn at all and I got only one good learn. Here's the report:

Sleep: Bad learn on the Sleep button
Timer: No learn
Master Control: no learn
Fan Control: no learn
Energy Save: Bad learn on L1
Time Adjust: no learn (to be expected)
Test Run: no learn
ACL: no learn

Plus I have a good learn on M3 and I did not intend to learn on that button at all.
