Pioneer code not supported by RM?

Post by teamvc »

Hi experts,

I use the Pioneer remote AXD1494 that comes with the Pioner PDP-435XDE plasma TV.
I learned all functions and transfered that data into a new RM file
(found here: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2570 ).

I think it uses the Pioneer Mix protocol but with an additional Cmd3!!!
I left these functions in a not working state :? because I could not find a protocol for that specific case. :?:

 Am correct and this is not supported yet or have I overlooked something?

Your help is appreciated.

Rather than "not working..." it would be helpful to know what the commands are supposed to do. Are they ALL for your TV, for instance, or are some (as is not uncommon on Panasonic, Philips and other remotes) for a DVD or VCR? If the former then that's weird (although not unheard of) and if the latter then you don't need those codes.

When you need is the "Pioneer MIX 4-cmd" protocol, which lets you mix up to 4 different prefix commands. Unfortunately, RM doesn't support this protocol yet, so you would have to use KM for this one, unless someone jumps in an adds a protocols.ini entry for it.

Edit: I guess I type too slowly as Rob posted a better answer while I was typing the message below:

I don't know the details of all the Pioneer protocol executors, so I'm not sure whether one exists that does what you want:

One device number for single part commands
Same device number for the first half of double part commands
Second device number for the second half of double part commands
Choice of THREE different PrefixCommand numbers for the double part commands.

If that executor doesn't exist, you can always fall back on the simplest way of combining things that don't fit one upgrade:
Make two upgrades, one with as many commands as fit and the other able to be used as a source for KeyMoves for the rest of the commands.

If I read your upgrade and notes correctly only three of the commands actually use prefix 211, so those may be good ones to push out to KeyMoves.

I also checked the official code list from Pioneer. I didn't find your exact model, but PDP-4350HD sounded like a similar number and led to a pdf file covering a bunch of different models with codes that look similar to those in your upgrade (though they have 4 commands using 211).

Thanks folks,

I opt for the two different devices version since that uses least upgrade space.

Thanks again :)

P.S. Maybe someone eventually modifies RM.

Hey, teamvc!

Since I'm sort of trying to help you out with your IR setup in the Extender forum, could you also upload this upgrade to the diagnostics folder and link to it there?

In fact, all of your device upgrades, along with your IR file, zipped together, uploaded to the diagnostic area, and linked to in your Extender thread, would allow more informed help when you ask your questions.

That link takes you to a .RAR file. It can be unRARed with WinRAR but - for future use (for everyone, please?) - maybe better stick to the commoner .ZIP file format.
