New owner of an RS 2117 remote!

Post by maxse »

Hi guys. Just got tis last sucker at my radio shack. Figured Id give them a call and they had one left! cost me all of $27!

So heres my question. I already bought an 8811 from walmart, and my cable is on its way. So now since I have the 2117 should I return the 8810w?

The real question is "which one do you like the most" and if money is an issue return the one you like the least. If money is not an issue then keep them both because before long you will find a reason for having two quality remotes.

And besides, it is fun to start a collection of remotes like the rest of us. I don't even know for sure how many I have and I know I don't even come close to Rob.

Well I guess money is a little bit of an issue. In addition I bought these remotes so I can eliminate having more then one you know what I mean. Also I want to build a HTPC soon, so im thinking thats gooing to be another seperate remote to control that.

Shame on you, Nils!

(at last count I had 12 or so... it's sometimes hard to keep track of them all)
I know I don't even come close to Rob.
There probably isn't any 5 of us together that can come close to him!

Either one of those you have ought to work nicely.

Let me see, you got me thinking now..

JP1 remotes
  • 6 in the main TV room (2 active - 2116 and 9960 with identical programming and 4 for testing etc)
4 in the kitchen (1 active - 6131 and 3 in a draw because there dups or not in use)
    2 with a TV's upstairs (6011 and a 8811)
1 in the basement for the exercise videos my wife uses - 6011 - I get my exercise with jp1
OEM
  • About a dozen + in a box - jp1 means I don't need them anymore
