Actually now that you mention it, the person inquiring did tell me that this system (I think he said RTI) uses XML files to store the hex data. I thought maybe it was on and off times, bit times, etc, but I could not get any of them to make sense.

What type of Hex code representation is this?

So I am a JP1 user and am currently using my JP1 (and Harmonys etc) to operate a device that I design/build/sell. Not sure about the policy so I'll refrain from putting the name of it unless asked. In any case it has a direct (wired IR, xantech, etc) input. At the moment I use my JP1 profile and the ...

The tivo functions are built into the 2117, so I am not exactly sure what you are trying to do, there is no reason to use the text file and so forth. In any case, the 30s skip is enabled by playing back a show and pressing select-play-select-3-0-select. This is in the tivo firmware and not the ...

Internally, the external emitter is wired in parallel with one of the IR leds in the unit (or that is what I recall from a project I built with it). In any case, the connector is a 2.5mm mono connector. RS sells them for a couple of bones in a package of 2.

Well, maybe i am either tired, or a fool, or both. I am using protocol builder v3.11 and I have enabled the macros. My problem is that i cannot figure out how to type in a protocol ID that the spreadsheet takes. I did use the howto, but it did not help. I type in 01FF, 1FF, 1FE, 0, none work. I also ...

Does the original remote have only those four buttons?

Yes, just 3 sounds and off.

Did you use a long press when learning?

Well during learning, i just held it down until the 2117 indicated that it had learned the signal. I did some analysis before my initial posting and realized that it ...

Ok, so I got the 6131 (unmodded) and again used DVD/0695. That made just about everything work. I finally found the code for the MENU key that is needed to add and remove channels, set picture prefs, etc. It is 107. I never did figure out what code was the enter key (how do you do that, since the ...

The IR.EXE program can create a wav file from a configuration with the external program ir2wav.exe. Depending on how complex your configuration is, it may be much easier to purchase/build a JP1 cable for your remote. With the program you can load the information for your devices. In the files ...

Thanks people,

DVD/0695 worked great on this device ... I was not able though to figure out how to get to the screen that lets you add and delete channels. If it is the same as my Toshiba TV, there is no obvious way to get to the menu. I would guess there is an advanced code, but I did not have ...

Some systems are very sensitive to power line noise. I suggest leaving your other components on and dragging an extension cord to another part of your home and plugging kust the converter in there. See if the noise is coming in through the power line.

For reference, if you dont have a camcorder, many webcams (both of mine do it) will also see the IR emission. I have tried it with my Sony Eye Toy (which is really a dlink webcam) and it works great. I use use the amcap.exe program that is found around the web.
