Tivo Series 2
I have a Radio Shack 15-2117 with a JP1 serial cable. About a year ago, I used the software to setup Reply and my TV. We just bought a Tivo and I want to add it. I found a few different TIVO txt files but when I view them in the keymaster excel file, the option for the 30 second skip is greyed out. How do I setup my RS remote to have all the functions that my new Tivo Series 2 remote has along with the 30 second skip feature. I had setup the skip on the Tivo remote following a few steps found on Tivo Community but I'm not sure how that relates to this remote.

I'm not clear what exactly is greyed out? There are 2 worksheets in KM that are relevant here. The first is the Functions sheet, this is where all the Tivo functions will be listed and nothing ever gets greyed out in this sheet. The second sheet is the Buttons sheet, this is where you assign functions to the physical buttons on your remote. If a button is greyed out here it means that there is no such button on your remote and the 15-2117 doesn't have an "Advance" button obviously, so you would want to assign the Advance function to another button.

I'm in the Buttons tab. I think the problem is that the Functions I want are mapped to keys that aren't on my remote. I would LOVE to have my TIVO keys map out the same way as my Replay keys so I don't have to learn 2 sets. The keys that I use on my Replay, TV/Video is in use for Input on Tivo but the +100 key is unassigned. I would like to use Enter for 30s skip. If I could change one thing about my current Replay setting is that I would prefer to turn Replay off with power instead of sleep.

There's nothing forcing you to keep the button assignment that was in the file that you downloaded, you're totally free to assign the Tivo functions, and the ReplayTV functions, to any button you like.

If you still can't make it work, post the files in question to the diagnostic area and link them in this thread (i.e. the TIVo and Replay TV files) explaining the symptoms you want "corrected".
Beginners - Read this thread first

I think I'll need to do that. I was able to change the buttons but when I try and upload the remote nothing happens. The remote has different codes than what I am seeing in the IR screen.
When I change tabs or try and upload the remote, I get this error:
"Key Move/Macro overflow. There is more data in your key move/macro section than can be stored in the remote. You must remove some key moves, macros, or scans."

The tivo functions are built into the 2117, so I am not exactly sure what you are trying to do, there is no reason to use the text file and so forth. In any case, the 30s skip is enabled by playing back a show and pressing select-play-select-3-0-select. This is in the tivo firmware and not the remote, but I suppose you could setup a macro to do this every time you power down the tivo (which presumably is never).
