It is amazing how a hair dryer and time left to dry out returns a remote to it's original function—it's alive!

I am still curious what would be the best remote to replace it.

What is the best remote to replace this that uses the same JP1 cable. I would like to get another URC-8910 but they are hard to come by. It needs to be in the $30-$50 range. What's your opinion?

I am looking at a Kameleon 8. Does this use the same JP1 cable as ...

I feel real stupid. I put new batteries in without having my glasses on. One of the batteries was backwards... Ugh!!! I turned it around and it works fine.

The remote just lost power. No LED or red backlight... nothing. Tried 2 sets of batteries—nada.

My URC8910 died tonight. I have all programed files on archive. I also have a serial interface cable that worked great—all was wonderful until...

What is the best bang for the buck replacement for the URC8910 remote that will accept my JP1 cable and archived codes?

Thanks,

Larry

Rob,

Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I have been out with the flu—not pretty. The upgrade you generated works perfect! I am pretty new at this and your decode was a big help!

Thanks again,

Larry

Proceed AVP

I have an 8910 remote. I have learned about 11 keys with the remote that I want to transfer back to the remote as a device upgrade to save memory. I have upload the file from the remote to JP1 version 7.09. I look into the "Learned Signals" tab to see the data and the info is: Protocol=Denon, device ...

vickyg2003: Yes, the learned codes work. I will post in the diagnosis area and link to here.

mdavej: I have tried the PAV upgrade before with no luck. I thought it should operate both the AVP and PAV. I will give it another try.

Some direction on 8910 remote

I will be getting a 8910 remote Monday. It interests me that a $20.00 remote is capable all the functionality I am reading about in this forum. I plan on purchasing a JP1 cable on Monday once I get the remote.

Where is the best place to get a cable and is there a all-in-one package I can get that ...

Thanks for the info.

I will check out the modem upgrade for the Proceed AVP. Unfortunately, the Proceed AVP and PAV use entirely different remotes. I also know that even though the remotes are different the codes might be the same...more research. The AVP does have a learning feature built into ...
