I have an RCA 05B that is a few years old and needs to be replaced since some of the buttons do not respond consistently. For the life of me I can't remember how I programmed the remote. I know never bought a JP1 cable to program the first one. Was it as simple as pointing the two remotes toward each other? If so, how do I go through that process again? If not, how do I go about JP1 start up? I'm getting lost in the technical detail on this.
1. Device: Samsung HT-BD1250
2. Type of device: Home Theater/Blue Ray
3. Year:2009
4. JP1/UEI Remote model:RCRPo5B
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? no
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section?
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)?
9. Partially working setup code? Yes, for audio, not blue ray
10. Learning remote question?
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? |

In case you ever do get a JP1 cable, I found a match and recorded the IR signals with the JP1 tools to create the respective files.
Personally, I think the convenience of being able to easily reconfigure your remote with RM/RMIR is well worth the cost. So, just take a look at all the goodies you can get at Tommy's store. It could be something you'd also rather do instead of performing manual programming. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

So did you try Audio 1295, 1500, 1868?
Although we want you to get a cable, you can do this without a cable. You just need to set the remote to send one of the codes above and then do keymoves against that code to get full functionality for your unit. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I tried the audio codes suggested and they did not work so I ended up programming manually. Thanks again for the help! |

I'm not sure what you mean by "programming manually", or for that matter in what way the setup codes "did not work".
Do you mean that you got no response from your HT-BD1250? Did you teach the RCRP05B from the OEM remote? Or did you do keymoves from eferz' file?
It helps everybody if we all understand what was necessary to get this to work. |
