Just got a JP1 cable, attempting to load 0616 ReplayTV protocol into a URC8800. Followed Tommy's directions. It looks like the protocol went in but it doesn't operate the device.
What now???

You should really post a link to your files to make it easier for people to find.

I checked your IR file and it appears it's for the 8800 extender. Are you really running the extender or did you possibly start with the wrong RDF?

Also, you should never save the entire KM spreadsheet as an upgrade (nor should you upload one of them to the Files area). Just use the SAVE button in KM to save the upgrade data to a small txt file.

I found an .rdf. Different title (eliminates "with extender"). Looks the same as the other one I used. Will this make a difference?

If you're not using the extender then the non-extender RDF is what you need to use. Otherwise, nothing is likely to work, especially if the extender code itself isn't installed (which takes more than just creating a new file using the extender RDF).

Used non-extender .rdf. Didn't make any difference. Still no operate.

I am not sure I understand what you are doing myself. Maybe Mark does. Isn't the replay code 0616 Panasonic protocol? And isn't it already in the remote?

Can you post a link to the file you are loading from as well as Tommy's directions.

It's an old remote. Not in there. I need it for the power of the 2 led to operate my weak ir receivers in my tv and switch box.

I just checked the devices.xls spreadsheet, and apparently the PVR:0616 setup code is indeed NOT preloaded in the 8800

Since there have been a few iterations of what you are attempting, please upload the KM upgrade you're using, and the IR file you're creating with that upgrade, and don't forget ...

Ok after looking closer at the ir file you uploaded. It looks like you are attempting to use replay simple protocol with replay panasonic efc's. If that is the case it will not work. The efc's and obc'c are not the same. If you have to use the replay protocol then you have to use the efc's or obc's from the 0614 upgrade.

Present iteration is all Panasonic, protocol & EFC. Still doesn,t work.
Every remote I have used with replay over the last 4 years has used the 0616 device code. The advanced code sheet I have always been using is 0616. Those are the codes that work my replay. I have heard (peripherally) about 0614, but have never had or used it.

Ever since I heard about JP1 I have resisted trying it. I am now convinced that it was a mistake. I think I will just send OFA the remote and have the 3 codes I need installed. This has really been a headache. BTW: I frustrate much too easily....
Thanks for all your help, guys!

I have just gotten the tag # from OFA to get the codes added.
I did just post 2 files called "latest iteration" in the diag area.

"Well, you never bothered doing this"

Snide, but what can we do.....

So does that last ir file you uploaded work the replay less the 3 codes you mentioned? What functions are the 3 codes for?
