KM experts: help RM import KM RC-5/5x Combo Upgrades

Post by gfb107 »

I'm working on fixing RM's support for the RC-5/5x Combo protocol.

The only thing left is importing KM upgrades that use that protocol.

I'm using the following upgrade file as my test case: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... ile_id=456

The problem I'm having at the moment is that this upgrade file doesn't specify a button style. So RM doesn't know what to do with the byte that would normally be the EFC or OBC.

Is it reasonable for RM to assume OBC when there is no button style?

That's correct. This is one of the protocols that KM forces the user to use OBC's. KM only checks whether the Button Codes field contains "EFC"; if not it uses OBC's.

I just found why KM was saving upgrades without EFC or OBC specified and have fixed it for the next release.

No current upgrade files are affected since KM defaults to OBC's unless "EFC" is specified explicitly.
