Which cable?

Post by Agrajag »

I own an 8811 and a Cinema7.

A new TV will be here around Christmas and I need to get newer codes to my HTM MX-500 (which I love).

I can't build one of these cables so I'm up for ordering one from DIY.

However, I'm confused by talk of JP1 1.2/1.3, etc.

I had been thinking USB but it's twice as much and I still have a parellel port and one serial port.

Thanks all.

Those are both regular JP1 remotes.

When shopping for a cable, don't forget the most excellent ones offered by Tommy Tyler HERE

They're USB, but they'll last you beyond your current laptop which will have USB only. They come in JP1 and JP1.X flavors.

Best,
jeff
