I'm trying to fix my URC7780 which locked up whilst downloading updates from OFA (I had downloaded some, then ran out of room on the d/l so removed some and downloaded one more.. which locked the remote and left it with all keys lit up and a blinking power key - same as described in this thread).

)Using IR 7.00 b3 (JP1.x selected) and an Ixos USB to serial adaptor (Prolific driver) on COM4 on Windows XP Pro, with all lower COM ports disabled, I get "Failed to open JP1.2 interface." whenever I try to download from the remote (all the keys blink twice, so I assume the connection is OK?).
The triangle on the header is lined up with pin 1 on the remote, I've been closing IR each time and re-opening, I've tried removing/re-inserting batteries, tried unplugging/plugging the USB to serial adaptor, and tried rebooting - all to no avail.
I'm using 10621062_(URC-7780_Stealth_12).rdf
The Tester utility seems to say there's a JP1.2 remote there even if there is nothing connected to the cable - so I'm not sure if I've missed something there.
I notice that on another forum diygadget seem to reply to users with similar symptoms by saying they've 'sent an email' - but that nothing gets posted.
Can anyone shed any light on what's not working here?
