Am trying to identify the following remote:
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/103/remotetk1.jpg It's a UEI remote and I've tried several RS and URC codes in IR without success.
It's a 5 device remote from Rogers, it controls a STB (SA3250HD) and apparently has a JP1 connector on board http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/9499 ... torsh8.jpg
Now this could be a JP1.2 (which I realize is not compatible); however the picture and text on the circuit board show JP1.
I actually use a URC-9910 remote which is programmed through JP1. This is just an experiment.
thanks..chris

Re: Remote ID
Do you get any error messages? Is IR able to download from the remote at all?chris060 wrote:It's a UEI remote and I've tried several RS and URC codes in IR without success.

Pop it open and take a look at the circuit board, or post a picture. The JP1.2's do not have a separate EEPROM, whilst the JP1, especially one with a 6-pin connector already in it, would certainly have one.

There's no EEPROM on the PCB, which means this is a JP1.x remote. You won't be able to program it using your current JP1 cable, you will need a new JP1.x cable when they are ready.
As far as programming your URC-8910 to work the STB is concerned, you should be able to learn the signals from the original remote and build a new upgrade.
