Need European Setup Codes for URC-9960

Hi, I am one of the European UCR 9960 Users who realized, that it is not fully supported in Europe. My special situation is, that my old rc's ar not available since my wife threw it ot of the window after not beeng able to turn the TV on.
Reading throug the forum and your Documentation I am still looking for an Entry Point. 3 of my 5 devices are not working and I was not able to find a suting file in the JP1 forum or at the Pronto files.

But possibly am acting the wrong way:
I went to the www.oneforall.int.com site and picked the possible Codes for the supported 8060 of my devices:
Sat Receiver: Tevion FTA 203 Code: 0713
DVD Player : Xoro HSD 400 Codes: 0806;0829;1079;1205
AV Receiver/Amp: YamahaRX-V640RDS Codes: 1276; 0176; 0712; 1331;0354

I tried to fond existing source files in the different mentioned Places for the Codes, but how can I search for that??? - I can only search for Device and Model. Even the device.xls file does not hlep (or does it??)??

I have donloaded the .wav files for the three devices. In the description for installation the mention comletely different Codes

Can somebody Help??

I will create some upgrade files for you based on the setup codes that you need later today.

One question is still open for me:

If I cannot find a code file using the Device Name in the file Aereas (e.g. Yamaha XXSSF) but I have the Device Type and the the Setup-Code Number - how can I find possibly existing Code files if not mentioned in the devices4.xls file.
Which possibilities do I have to search for existing upgrade files using the Setup Code.

All the help documetation "asumes" that for device XY there is a Code XXXX and suddenly there is a File including the EFCs and a File with advanced codes as well. I don't believe this are speculations!!??

You might try looking at http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/adv-codes.shtml to see if the setup code is listed there.

Sorry for the delay here, but those codes that you thought would be in the URC-8060 aren't there, so I'm trying to get the data from elsewhere.

However, 3 of the Yamaha codes are already in the 9960: 1276; 0176; 0354

Also, there are several yamaha files in the file section, so try one of them. Even if the model number isn't an exact match.

Thank you so far! I tried the existing codes without luck. The 1276 for the Yamaha is not available in my 9960!
By the way: The response time is incredible good!
As I told before when I got the .wav Files downloaded I got different codes from http://www.ezremote.com

I could send You the .wav files of the 8060 if that helps. In some other cases you asked for this files so I assume that you have a Tool to Analyze it (but please tell me before where I can find the "analytic" area in this forum.

OK, I managed to download the same WAV file myself and converted it into an IR file, which you can download from here. I've added notes to each upgrade specifying what protocol it uses and what device codes, so you should be able to re-create these as upgrade files using either KM or RM. I've done the first two for you here but ran out of time to do the rest.

I'm going to buy 9660 to use it in Europe, but it seems that I will need those files for european support.

A beginner question: with 9660, an adapter JP1, making the update of those files, and a PDA to be able to read the codes of my remote controls and to decodificar them, I will be able to put the same functions that I have at the present time with those controls?

Please, if this question already has been answered, I have not seen the link

Have you looked HERE? . That is where the "official" UEI files usually end up.

I'm not sure about the PDA being a factor, but the remote - in particular your remote, which is a learner - the cable, a computer, and the software available in the tools section here will allow you to customize your remote as you wish.

You really need to read all of the beginner's documents (see the "sticky" posts at the top of the beginners'forum.)

Hummm, I thought that the file european-9960.IR was an adaptation of the codes of the 9960 to the European format. I'm wrong?

Yes, I have seen them, but I looked for that file in particular, european-9960.IR

Your misunderstanding is why I recommended that you read some of the beginners'documentation. The file European_9960.IR, regardless what upgrades were in it, is not what you really need (unless it happens to contain all of the upgrade you desire, laid out precisely the way to desire - an unlikely circumstance).

First, you need to locate (or create, or modify) upgrades for your equipment (DVD player, TV, Amplifier, etc.). It doen not matter what remote the upgrade is for. You modify it for YOUR remote using either of two programs, KeymapMaster (KM) or RemoteMaster (RM). Both work very well, but impose upon your computer different requirements. To run KM, you must have Microsoft Excel with Analysis Toolpack installed and macros enabled. To run RM, you don't need Excel, but you have to install Java Runtime Environment. KM upgrades have a *.txt file extension, while RM upgrades have a *.rmdu extension. Either format upgrade can be imported into the other format if you need to do so. It's your choice.

Once you have all of your upgrades prepared, you import their data into an IR file. Very, very simply, IR.exe is a program that combines all of your device upgrades into a single file for your remote control's EEPROM to store. It allows you to do many other things, as well, like create keymoves and macros. THIS file has the extension *.IR.

So I recommend again, READ.

The file that you mention was formatted for the 9960 and contained the specific list of upgrades that the first user was asking for, so unless you just happen to have the same list of devices as him, the file wouldn't be of much use to you anyway.

The folder at Yahoo where that file was stored is a temporary folder, files get deleted after a while from there.

Like the Capn said, if you read the beginner docs (like this one) you should get an idea of how JP1 works.

We probably have upgrade files for many of your devices, but even if we don't, as long as you still have the original remotes for them, you can make upgrades yourself.
