URC-8203 RDF File needed

Post by sensismile »

Hi all,

for my bedroom I just bought a 8203 Kameleon. To get it programmed I ordered a JP1.x cable. Now I just discovered that there is no RDF File available for the 8203. Is it possible for me to create the RDF File on my own and maybe create the image and map for RM too ?

Thanks and greetings from Germany,
Sensi

I don't know why there isn't an RDF out there, let me look into it.

In the meantime, could you post an IR file for it.

Hi Robman,

yes I tried it and IR tells me it has no definition for 10261026 . If there is a nother definition on the Raw Tab I don't know where to look for it.

The RAW Data does almost only contains $FF. Only these three lines are not filled with $FF:

0000: 31 30 32 36 31 30 32 36 32 CD 00 25 10 51 23 01
0010: 30 40 00 07 01 02 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF

and

0400: EE 04 EE 04 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF

Maybe this helps ?

Thanks

What's the address of the last line (ie, the first 4 digits)?

I've thrown together a quick RDF largely based on the URC-8206 RDF here:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4477

You'll need to experiment to see if the button names are correct, as they're really the URC-8206 button names. I guessed at the Settings based on the data posted.

HI again,

the 8201 and 8203 are onyl half-height !

http://www.oneforall-int.com/index.html ... &prodnr=24

here you can see a picture of my remote. The Headline says it's the 8201 but the picture is actual from the 8203. They exchanged the pictures fron 8201 and 8203.

Sensi

P.S: Will try the rdf file after shower ..

Try downloading from the remote after you have saved the RDF in your RDF folder and tell me if you get the message "The EEPROM size detected by IR (???) does not match the value specified in the RDF (???). The value in the RDF will be ignored."

If you do, I'd like to know what the ??? values are.

Well no - no errormessage here !

I'm using IR.exe 7b3 .

Ok I will play around a bit and tell you if it works.

BTW a question - If I have a deviceupgrade for a SAT/CBL Type Device (in my case MediaMVP) and the remote does only have TV/VCR/DVD as possible device classes, is it possible to get this upgrade working on the remote ?

Thanks

Yes, but you would need to create the upgrade as a TV, VCR or DVD upgrade.

Btw, I can't tell where the learning section starts in this remote, so could you learn something and then download again. I'm looking to see which part of the data changes.

Also, could you initialize the memory to all zeroes, then do a 981 reset, then download. This will create what we call a "virgin" file which is also useful in getting the RDF right.

You initialized the file to all FFs before doing the 981, as FF is the terminator used by this remote, I need it initialized to all zeroes so I can see the FF terminators.

Well .. I initialized the remote to $00, then the 981 reset and raw downloaded the data ..

THis time I made only the $00 init and downloaded the RAW date before doing the 981 reset.

It looks almost the same ..

here's the file

OK ,
the learning space starts at $0800

0800: 10 20 1D 00 D3 03 00 59 FF A5 00 8E 4B 90 00 59
0810: 4B 60 1A 12 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 20

But I don't get the whole remote filled up with $00 - maybe a problem with IR7b3 and JP1.x ??

Great, that's where I had guessed it would be, so the RDF doesn't need to change.
