When I first got my universal remote, I somehow was able to learn a few keys from my Sony Receiver which forms part of my surround sound system, in particular, the volume buttons.
However, a few months later I'm not trying to get the MUTE button learned and it won't learn it. I've tried varying distances and I never get the two flashes indicating that the key was learned correctly.
I'm well aware of the steps involved and I do have sufficient memory to program this key. So I looked at the previous buttons I was able to learn and here's what it states:
RCVR: VOL+ Button
Protocol : Sony15
Device: 48
Sub-Device: Blank
OBC: 18
Hex Cmd: 48 or 49
EFC: 080 or 072
So given that this button works properly and was one of the first buttons I learned early on, I tried creating a new key move using the same info except I used 20 for OBC which apparently is the correct OBC for the mute button. I then tried EFC at 083 and 075 which is what I found in the Sony Codes chart. But neither of these have worked.
Can anyone help me get this mute buttom programmed? I tried the existing Sony 12/15/20 combo .txt file for keymaster.xls but it seems my remote doesn't have enough memory to store all the key moves that is generated by that .txt file.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S - Apparently, the receiver model is STR-K1900P which again is part of the Sony Surround system HT-1900DP. Thanks.
