Scientific Atlanta AT2000-4 Remote not working with cable

Post by 120240VAC60HZ »

I was given two old Scientific Atlanta AT2000-4 remotes that I can not get to work with my parallel JP1 cable.
The remote is from around the year 1999-2000, It was one of the first remotes that worked with the new digital cable boxes.

I have an original simple JP1 parallel cable and I am using an old Pentium IV XP machine with a parallel port on the motherboard everything is configured correctly (To my knowledge)

I tried both IR and Remote Master

IR says "No Response from remote" and RM says "No Remote Found"

The remote does work (I can enter codes and it will send an IR signal)
and I put in new fresh batteries

I want to program it to control my window AC so I don't tie up my RCA RCRP05B as that is my only "good" JP1.x remote (Well that can learn)

Never mind!
I went down to my local Charter Communications office and I asked for a new remote and they gave me two URC-1060BC3 remotes which I can use the USB cable so I can use my main computer and not my old XP test machine
