Insignia service menu

Post by jackching »

Is there any info here on how to enter an Insignia service menu? I have two problems i cant resolve. The overscan doesnt seem to be set correctly as the screen seems cut off and also when there is a power outage or power is cut from the unit, the tv will turn on when the power is re applied. Neither can be set in the normal menu. The tv is probably 15 years old but still works.

In case it differs by TV model, it might help if you mention the model number, and whether it's a Roku set or not.

Try this:
1. Power on
2. set the volume to 0
3. press: INPUT, 9876, OK

Or, try this:
1. Power on
2. set the volume to 0
3. press: INPUT, 1147, OK

For a Roku set, try this:
1. Power on and go to Home menu
2. Press HOME 5 times
3. Press: FFWD, PLAY, REWIND, PLAY, FFWD

Back then the code the tv uses and whose tv brands its from it was good chance that you manufacturered it. It was standard answer to insignia questions was direct them to Emerson, Mitsubishi, or Phillips. So whose code does your tv respond to?

I don't see that model in the file section, how are you controlling it, are you using an upgrade or a built in setup code?

Which prompts the obvious question, which setup code are you using?

Good question. I just used the simplest method by holding down the 2 key and it took right away.

You can blink back the code:

1. tv
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 0
4. press the #1 key, count the blinks
5. press the #2 key, count the blinks
6. press the #3 key, count the blinks
7. press the #4 key, count the blinks

Now post the 4-digit code.

Is there a way to save the current setup on this remote? I actually use it on another setup and was just trying to get this tv to work with it. 986 doesnt save the configuration on this remote. The last time i had to redo it all. I could hook it up to the cable i guess.

The save config command for the 3660 is 968. But it works a little different than 986
Hold setup until 2 blinks then enter 968 then enter a 4 digit code of your choice.
there will be 2 blinks confirm.Command 977 will restore your config

Is that a typo "986" or is that what you entered ?
The save config is "968" and if "968 does not work it means it is set and then disabled
the only way to reset is using RMIR
