Just to clarify what I'm looking for in the IR file.
I want to see the 3DEV upgrade loaded and assigned to a device button (eg, RCVR).
It might be helpful if you also tested the 4DEV upgrade to confirm whether that works. If you include that, please assign it to a different device button (eg, AUX)
I also want to see the learned signals, and these should be learned under a DIFFERENT device button than the ones that the upgrades are assigned to (eg, TV).
To keep things simple, you should start with an empty IR file, so the only items present will be the upgrades and the learned signals.
To help us understand what we're looking at, it would be helpful if the learned functions are learned to the same buttons that you assigned them to in the upgrades.

Yep, I was planning on doing everything you suggested once I'm home. I already have a new IR file with only the learned functions (mapped to the same buttons as in the upgrade) that I created last night. I will do the rest (copy the DEV3 and DEV4 upgrades into the IR file, and test them) after work.
If I still can't get it to work (and I don't suspect I will be able to), I'll post the IR file, with only the info you mentioned.

Rob,
My IR file is at:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3319
TV: working DEV4 upgrade (RECV 0023)
RECV: working learned functions
AUX: broken DEV3 upgrade (RECV 1023)
Thanks.

I downloaded your file and compared the hex code for the numeric buttons between your 4DEV upgrade and KM when I open the Pioneer master file, and they match. So, I then changed the selected protocol in KM from 4DEV to 3DEV and then compared the hex codes to those in your 3DEV upgrade and they don't match, so something's up there. For example, the hex code for the ZERO button in KM is "00 20" whereas in your 1023 upgrade it's "00 C0".
Which version of KM are you using? I think you should save a new copy of the file after you have changed the selected protocol and load that up for me to look at.
I notice that your 1023 upgrade has the right codes for the volume buttons, do those work OK?

It sounds like there's a problem with the protocols.ini entry for 3DEV then. I can't look at RM issues during the day, so I'll have to try and find time in the evening.
In the meantime, either use the 4DEV version, or use KM to edit the upgrade.

I tried to research this, but I can't even get RM to open the Pioneer Master File (I have raised this issue here).
Could you do me a favor. If you're able to open the KM Pioneer Master File using RM, could you then save it as an RMDU file and post it so I can look at it.
I noticed that there is an RMDU file in the file section called Pioneer Master File, but it uses the 2CMD protocol so it's not really a master file.

I'm looking at both of these issues. Stay tuned.
