The buttons on my OFA 6131 (old design) were going bad so I purchased the RCA RCRP05B remote. I can control my DirecTV, DVD, and LG TV including discrete codes. The Pioneer receiver (VSX-D812K) is another story. I previously learned the codes from the original remote on an old radioshack remote and I made a personal upgrade for the 6131. Everything worked great including ToadTog and KeyPress variations. The OBC codes between the current version of KM and an old version that I used when I last updated the 6131. I thought that I could change the remote selection in KM and get my new remote setup, but this is not working properly. Here are some observations.
1. Using preprogrammed codes: Setup code 1023 only controls Power, volume, and mute; Code 1123 controls Power, volume, mute, exit, arrows, and enter; Code 1935 controls everything that 1123 controls except exit.
2. I can't get the discrete input selection buttons to work (TV/Sat, DVD, Tuner, etc.). The EFC's as reported by KM do not match the EFC's when I learn the commands on the RCRP05B. For example, the DVD input button is Protocol Pioneer, device 165, OBC 133, Hex 5E, EFC 192 on the learned key, but in KM the EFC is 007 and hex A1 40.
3. I kind of got some keys to work, but this was probably a mistake by the remote or a bad upgrade. I say this because the key switched to DVD, then is muted the receiver. I tried to unmute using the mute key, and after several presses, the "mute" key turned off the receiver. Fortunately, the same key turned it back on, but the key no longer worked to unmute.
4. There might be a disparity in protocol upgrade codes in KM (v. 9.21) and RM (v. 2.0). RV remotes a required protocol upgrade code for Pioneer 3dev, but KM does not produce the code.
So I'm kind of stuck on getting this remote to work properly with my setup. I really like the 4 colored buttons, which is why I'm going with this remote. Is anyone having success in getting this remote to work with pioneer receivers?

Also, when you're working with the various Pioneer protocols, use OBCs rather than EFCs.
