add device error in IR 4.01 for URC8800.

Post by Mulch »

Mark,
Here's an error I'm getting in IR 4.01. Not a big deal, but thought you might want to know.

ir
List index out of bounds (-1)

I get this when I add a DVD device for a URC-9800/8800. The upgrade code comes from KM and it has both the upgrade and keymoves in the one add statement. For a new remote in IR the general tab has 0000 for the codes for all the devices. So when I give IR the ugprade, it will tell me that it's not currently assigned to a device button. If I tell it I want to assign it now it will only ask me for the Device button. Once I give it that, I get the error when I click ok. But if I add a Tuner device that has both the upgrade and some keymoves, IR will ask me for both the Device Button and the Device Type. That doesn't get the error.

I only see this on URC-9800 / 8800 and I get the error on DVD, CD, TV, etc. but not Tuner or Amp.

There is a workaround for this though. If you set all your devices codes first in the General tab, then the device adds will work fine.

I just tried to re-create this and I didn't have a problem. Could you post the upgrade that you were copying from KM as there may be something wrong with that.

Rob, I just tried it from both KM and RM and it is fine as long as there are no keymoves involved. Once you add a keymove it does happen when IR does it's normal process to bind the keymove to a device. I took a look at the RDF and don't see any problems in it with the naked eye.
