Where to Buy Original URC-6131
Does anyone have any idea where I can get a modded/nonmodded URC-6131.
I know there is an updated version, but I can't stand it. The 6131 is the best remote i've ever used. And i know my current one is getting a little long in the tooth. It's my baby. I'd hate to loose this awesome remote. I just want to buy a few and throw them in the freezer for later!
Thanks so much for your help!

I don't know if robs taking orders right now but his post still indicates he has the original 6131.

Otherwise you aren't likely to find it new so Ebay may be your best bet.

I do still take the occassional order. I'm planning on getting some remotes ready today for some existing orders, so if you ordered one today it will probably ship on Jan 2nd.

As long as you're not in a rush, you're welcome to place an order. I don't have any soldered up at the moment, so I need to find some time to solder them before I can ship any, so it could be a while.

No. The unmodified version does not have ANY 6-pin or 6-pad connector for serial communication. The connector must be installed. Also, the basic unit has only a 1K EEPROM. Usually, while one has it opened up to add the 6-pin connector, the EEPROM gets upgraded to a 2K, as well.rickgtx wrote:Can you program these without mods with the pogo-pin connector?

Actually, the basic unit doesn't have ANY size of EEPROM installed, to modify a URC-6131 or URC-6131N for JP1 use you need to solder in a 6-pin connector *AND* an EEPROM chip.

If I find time to solder up some more URC-6131s, I'll post something here and you can have them on a first come, first served basis.
