Discrete Denon AVR3803 Code not Working with 8910

Post by ThomasKMC »

Hi All,

I hope you can assist me with a problem I'm having trying to program a discrete code for a Denon AVR-3803 receiver into my 8910 remote. The command I want to use is called 'Input Mode Auto'. From the official IR Codes document found here, I calculated the OBC code to be 179 and the device 4. I uploaded the spreadsheet I used as well, see here. Pluggin in the numbers into RM and copying the data into IR does not work, however.

I have posted the RM file here.
The IR file can be found here.

Interestingly, the calculated OBC codes are different from those found in other posts. On of those posts by Stephen mentions that same discrete code to be OBC 115 instead of 179 what I calculated. I am not sure how he came up with this number but I wanted to point it out. See his post here: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... on+avr3808.

Thank you for your help.

I think you computed it correctly.

His values seem to be based on the reverse of the Extension bits that were documented in the Denon file you linked (115 would be correct if C12=1 and C13=0 instead of the C12=0 and C13=1 that you found). I don't know whether he used a contradictory Denon document or he interpreted that same documentation the opposite way (or maybe the Denon documentation is wrong and he found a better source).
