Key Moves
Good Day,
When I create a DU with Remote Master using the 6820_8820_10820 rdf from the website, along with the DU code there are some key moves created. Regardless if I paste those key moves into the Device tab of IR or not, the remote works fine with the upgrade so it seems that the key moves are more or less redundant. This does not happen for the same device using Atlas DVR, i.e. there are no key moves created by RM in addition to the DU. Could anyone cast some light on this please?
Thank you!

I think the KeyMoves are still in IR from the first time you pasted them.
If you paste in a changed DU without KeyMoves, that does NOT remove any KeyMoves that may have been included with that DU earlier. Even if you delete the DU, its associated KeyMoves remain.
When you delete or modify a DU, you may need to manually remove its associated KeyMoves from the KeyMove tab in IR.
I'm confident that the rdf for the 6820 family remotes is correct enough that RM will not create any unnecessary KeyMoves.

Key moves not there ...
Hi Johnsfine,
Thank you for your reply!
When I tested just the DU upgrade the keymoves were not there. During the testing before each try I used 981. After this I tried the following situations:
1. Copy and paste in IR/Device just the protocol (the keys section clipped)
2. Copy and paste everything and manually delete the key moves in the appropriate tab.
Both situations worked fine (keys mapped correctly) and there were no keys in the key move section of IR.
So back to the initial question, are they of any use when generated by RM?
Thank you!

Did you test the keys for which key moves were generated? It would help this discussion a lot if you could provide a link to the RM file you are using so we can see exactly what is going on.

Hi gfb107,
Please find the zip file with the files of interest at:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4011
Please note device code 2040. The RM generates a lot of key moves that I did not include in the IR. I tested all the keys for this code and they work fine without the key moves.
Thank you!

I only see 2 keymoves generated in your device upgrade:
The key moves are:
"ATSC M.EPG" (EFC 00057) assigned to M1
"ATSC F.EPG" (EFC 000185) assigned to M2
It makes sense that M1 and M2 would not be included in the TV key map, so I am not surprised to see that. Every thing looks normal here. If you don't need the keymoves on M1 and M2, just remove the assignment to those buttons.

This is what I see in RM:
This is the output of my RM version which seems to be different than yours. Would you need my dll's as well?
