This is a continuation, with changes, of a thread I started at AVSForum
I now have 3 JP1 remotes that I want to program to control two different ReplayTVs in the "same" room by setting the unit code in them and the remotes. I am using Rob's ReplayTV.txt in RM. However I have not been able to get the remotes programmed to where both are controlled independently.
Equipment being used is as follows:
ReplayTV 2020
ReplayTV 5040
URC-9960
URC-8910
URC-6131 old modified
I would like to have the PVR button control the 5040 with unit code 1.
I would like to have the VCR button control the 2020 with unit code 2.
On the 8910 use the CABLE for the 5040 with unit code 1.
What am I doing wrong? I am only changing the layout, unit code, and setup code in each of these.

I think you posted the wrong URL for your thread at AVS.
I expect you're asking something that Rob knows more about than the rest of us and he already saw your other thread, so he won't need the right URL there to answer you here. But just in case someone else tries to answer, the right URL would help.

This thread is about a URC-9960 remote, yet both of the posted files are for a URC-6131 ?
At any rate, here's the situation. The selected protocol is the Official ReplayTV protocol, which uses 2 bytes of variable data where the first byte is the unit code. However, changing the unit code in RM's setup sheet doesn't change the unit code in the variable data.
The IR file also shows a good ReplayTV upgrade (called VCR/1614) which uses my homemade protocol.

The project started with a Kameleon and that is why I named the thread that way. Once I got the 6131 I preferred using that to setup with since it has the male pins. Once I can successfully configure that then I will configure the 9960 and the 8910 identically.
What do I need to do? Do I have to use KM? Do I need to use a different protocol?

If you want to continue using the Official protocol (and I can't think of any good reason why you would) you will have to use KM. If you use RM you should switch to either the Advanced or Simple protocols. You already have the advanced protocol installed (it's used by the VCR/1614 upgrade) so you might as well use that.
Now, in your other thread, you stated that you tried both of those protocols and had problems, so I'd like to see your RM and IR files that use the Advanced protocol, so I can see what you did wrong.
