URC-9960 vs. URC-6960 comparison?

Post by Acergame123 »

I've been happily using my URC-8910 (thanks to JP1 cable) for about 2.5 years now, but it's starting to show its age so the time has come to consider the replacement...

The URC-9960 seems pretty interesting. But for $20 less, the URC-6960 is even moreso! I can get by with 6 devices no problem. Can anyone speak from experience to confirm they really are the same except for the number of supported devices?

If they really are the same but for number of supported devices, is there any chance existing extenders for the URC-9960 would work?

Thanks for your time!

We really can't answer questions like that until we get someone here who actually has the remote. If it turns out that it uses the exact same chip as the 9960, then the 9960 extender will work without any modification. If it's close, but not an exact copy, then it's quite possible that the 9960 extender could be ported over to it, but Nils would probably need to borrow the remote for about a week in order to do that.
