366705 URC-7145 Evolve 4 R02

If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

Excellent start Tim, I have created an RDF, cloned from the earlier version, that mostly works for your remote. I have sent you a PM with details of how to get some additional info that I need to complete it.

The RDF has been updated, please give it a whirl. Please test to see if the remote supports keymoves. I've also left learning turned on, I'm guessing the remote is not a learner but I'd like to know if it supports the playback of learned signals, to test that you'd need to cut&paste a learned signal into it. If you don't know how to do that, just give me the info on a device that you're using, I would either need a setup code or a link to an upgrade, then I'll create a learned signal for you and all you'll need to do is test it.

The RDF works! Thanks a lot!!!
The remote has a learning function and I will test it as well as keymoves within the next days!
Perhaps I need some more help for that..

Once again thank you very much! :)

Hi again!

Today I finally tried to setup my remote. I added 2 new devices by opening .rdmu files. But after uploading everything to the remote there was a strange behaviour: When I want to switch the device with the Device Button on the RC it is not possible. It always stays on "TV" and I cannot select STB, BLU and AUD any more.
Do you have any hints?

@Robman:
You told me to test the learning function. It works and the learned signals are displayed on the "Learned signal" Tab in RMIR.

I think I'd need to see your RMIR file with all the upgrades included. Please post it to the Diagnosis Area and then post a link here.

First of all: Happy Easter to everyone!

Here are the files I used to upgrade my RC:

Did you download these RMDU files or did you create them yourself? I ask because the device codes are blank in each of them. I would expect that to result in an upgrade that doesn't work, rather than one that causes the reaction you described though. Having said that, it's quite possible that both devices use device code 0.

If you change the 4 setup codes in the General tab back to what they were, using RMIR and uploading, does that cause things to work again?

The 4 original setup codes were:
TV 0650
STB 4826
BLU 1633
AUD 0158

Hi,
yes indeed, I created the 2 RDMU files by myself. But I tried it with downloaded RDMU files before.
There is one RDMU file which is working:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=10182

But after I have adjusted the buttons to my Remote in RMIR there is the same behaviour I described before.

Simply changing the Setup Codes to the original codes does not work, as well.

What info did you use to build the RMDU files and why did you leave the device codes blank?

Could you try re-loading the 3667.ir file that you got from a raw download to see if that gets the remote working again. If it doesn't, try a 981-style MFR RESET.

Oh, and check that the batteries are good.

This is puzzling.

@TimL

If Rob's suggestion of re-loading the 3667.ir raw download does not work, so gives the same behaviour that you cannot change the device from TV, please do a raw download of the remote in that state and post it for us to look at. In case you are wondering how to upload a raw download, you can load the 3667.ir file into RMIR just like a .rmir file and upload it in the usual way. The reason for doing the raw download is that the remote may make its own changes to the data you upload, so the raw download may differ from what you uploaded. It is what finishes up in the remote that determines how it behaves, so this should give us a clue as to what is happening.

@TimL

I have now looked at the files you have already posted, and have another suggestion for you. Try editing the RDF [Checksums] section and change the /4 at the end to /2, so it reads

Code: Select all

*$0000:$0002..$0FFF/2
See if that makes a difference.

I was wondering about the checksum as the older version of the remote uses the /2 checksum, but the raw dump showed /4 so I dismissed the thought.
