This is a brand new remote from the cable company. I tried using RMIR but it says "remote not found". In IR when I try to download it says "jp12 read failed 0".
I have a RCRP05B that works in both IR and RMIR. Also the Atlas 1056B01 that I had worked in both IR and RMIR. I have remote master v2.02a and IR 8.04, both installed correctly. I have the cable orientated correctly, also the batteries are new. Not sure what to do.
Atlas 1056B03 can't download from remote in IR and RMIR

The Atlas 1056B03 is a JP2 remote. IR.exe doesn't support JP1.4 and newer remotes. However, RMIR v2.02a does support the 1056B03 (I have one).
RMIR generates a log file called rmaster.err. It is usually located in the same directory as remotemaster.jar, but on Win7 and newer it could be in some other location.
Attempt a download, and then upload rmaster.err to the Diagnosis section and post the link to the uploaded file here.

The err file says that the interface is recognized, but the remote wasn't recognized.
Do you have a DIY Gadget interface? As far as I know, we haven't had success using these with JP2 remotes. The symptom seems to be that the interface is able to write to the remote, but isn't able to read the remote correctly. In any case please follow these instructions so that we can see the details of the communication between interface and remote.

Yes it is a DIY Gadget cable. I have everything to assemble an ftdi cable so I guess I'll go that route.
