looking for a replacement for 15-2116

I'm looking for a replacement for my 15-2116. I have looked hard and far for either the 2116 or the 2117 on ebay and craigslist, no luck. My current 15-2116 has been programmed to the MAX (very little memory left and all 8 devices are used) using the JP1 interface.
Can someone suggest a replacement ...

KM 8.35 closes after loading a file

Using KM 8.35 with Excel 2003. Sometimes when loading a file, everything is fine. Other times, loading the same file, KM just closes Excel. If I reopen KM and reload the same file, everything is fine again, sometimes it takes two tries. Has anyone experience this? Thanks.

Changed from Combo to built-in protocol

Thanks to Robman’s tip, I changed from “NEC1 Combo” to “NEC1 Combo (Official)", this saved me some room under IR’s Upgrade from not having to use the protocol upgrade.

I have 2 more devices that have combo upgrades with protocol upgrades, one is “TiVo (Advanced)" with protocol 0041, and the other ...

The 15-2117 has the TiVo (Official 2-byte) protocol built-in. Using that instead of TiVo (Advanced) will mean you won't have to install a protocol upgrade, but the device upgrade will be bigger (commands are 2 bytes instead of 1). You'll have to try it both ways to see which combination uses less ...

Some of those combo upgrades still use the old home-grown NEC combo protocol, you should change that to the "NEC1 Combo (Official)" in order to do away with needing to copy over the protocol upgrade.

Thanks for the tip, saved me some room under Upgrade. I have 2 more devices that have combo ...

It didn’t make any difference; I’ve changed the parallel port in the BIOS to Standard, Bi-directional, ECP, and EPP. Same result.
It looks like a voltage thing.

strange problem with my Simple parallel port JP1 cable

I am experiencing a strange problem with my Simple parallel port JP1 cable. I have used this cable for over a year now without any problems on both a desktop and a Dell laptop.
Recently I have upgraded the Dell laptop to a Compaq laptop. The JP1 cable works fine connected to the Compaq Port ...
