Excellent catch!

I did try the base text extender file and I believe (trying to remember) it worked.. of course, none of the equipment worked, but that was expected.

I'll fix what you suggested tonight and report back. Ok, maybe not tonight or the g/f will get pissed at my playing with my remote ...

Thanks Paul.

I actually removed that macro from the extender file and uploaded it again, still the same problem.

Do I need to remove it from the original config, run the "installer" again and then upload the extender?

I'm not at home now, so I'll try it tonight.

Found the Extender base confirg file, uploaded it and no problem turning on the extender. Any help as to why my extender file isn't working?

Can't get 9960 Extender to run

After many searches and following the extender instructions, I almost think I have a problem with the remote. I only made one macro on the original setup, I saved that setup and used the extender install to convert it. I uploaded that new extender file to the remote and the remote is fine. I ...

Haha.. but what would be the fun of actually "reading the manual" ?!!

Thanks for the info, I will definitely read all I can. I find I usually learn better by diving right in, which I why I loved getting the cable and IR installed to mess with the 9960 right away. Loving it!

Thanks!

9960 Macro Question

Ok, so I downloaded the IR and the RDF's and got my nice, shiny cable. I downloaded from the remote and modified the one plain macro that I put on the power button for the HT mode to turn on the devices. I removed the DVD player button and the POWER button from the macro since I don't use it every ...

Thanks Robman... figured. I'm surprised no one has devised a simple rubber-band loop with some padding to keep either the pogo or header pressed on to the pins.. but of course, I'm speaking without having these devices in front of me.

Can't wait to start hacking.. I'm stick of the long macros to ...

Thanks guys.. I don't have the uber soldering ability... Why couldn't I just hold the 6 pin header on the pads? Is it very hard without the sping loaded pins to get the proper connection?

I'll probably order the header and try that and possibly try the soldering.

9960 Cable Question

Just got the remote and being the uber geek that I am I must be one with my remote! So, from what I read I do not have pins on my JP1 connector.. so I need one of the adapters or a 6 pin header soldiered on. I would rather not modify the remote at this point so what adapter do I need? The popo one ...
