I haven't had time to look at it much (been very busy here today). But I gather that you're using the right bit of the command to represent the make/break bit, and dropping the left bit to make room for it. Might as well, it appears to always be 0 anyway. But the code doesn't seem to right shift the ...

I skipped explaining how I figured out the formula, because quite frankly I didn't think anyone would really care. But I'll run through it since it very well may help you or someone else here be able to spot another one in the future. And you may be able to incorporate some of the methodology <sp ...

KM flat out impressed me the minute I opened it up, and I haven't even un-hid anything. My ability to do anything with a spreadsheet stops right about around =SUM(A1,A2) for complexity.
You guys are doing things with Excel that I had no idea was possible, so I'll leave any spreadsheet work up to ...

Yep, you're right. I must have corrupted that sample while cutting and pasting to sort the samples to recognize any patterns. Thanks for spotting that, it was bothering me a bit.
That 4DTV signal sounds like a real "beat the head against the desk" problem. I would still be staring and scratching my ...

Sorry so long in replying, I don't have the net at home. I live in the boonies.
(and how the hell did you figure it out anyway).
Just alot of staring and scratching my head until the parts came together :). As for reversing the bits, adding, then re-reversing the bits, I was doing this manually ...

The closest thing I can come up with is this...
where

F------- M C-- X
00000000 0 000 0

Byte starts with LSB.
A will be F's Low Nibble
B will be F's High Nibble
and
U will be the nibble represented by the C-- and X

U = (RotLeftby1bit( A xor B)) + (A and B)

drop the carry bit of there ...

Oh, you mean the cell RIGHT UNDER the cell where I just chose the new protocol, that's clearly labeled Duration. I think it's time for me to make an eye appointment. At least this time I posted my stupid question in the area where there are no stupid questions.
Thanks Mark,

IB

RCA Combo (w/ duration)

Currently I have my TV using the "RCA Combo (Official)" protocol. But I'm having a problem with the Dicrete On not having a long enough duration in macro mode for my tv to turn on, unless I do the hold down the button and have it as the last command trick.
Well I just noticed that there is a "RCA ...

You bet. Being that I'm on day 6 of learning this new world of JP1, I haven't really come up with any original ideas that someone here hasn't already come up with. But give me time, I'm sure I'll come up with something and start to play with it some. Now whether the idea has any actual practicality ...

I got a chance to install the Ext 2 in my remote last night. The custom LCD protocol does everything I was hoping to get mine to do, and a whole lot more efficient than I could ever expect mine to be.
So, to whoever writes these extenders, I'm impressed, and thanks for taking the time to do them.

Ok, I dl'd the ext 1 file a couple days ago, and I missed the second one completely, and I wasn't sleep deprived at that point.
Thanks Nil
There may be no such thing as a stupid question, but the intelligence of the source of my last question is debatable.

Thanks Robman, I grabbed a copy of it and I'll definately check it out. So much to learn and so little time. :?
pH7-jp1,
That brings me to another thing I'm a bit confused on. I've downloaded the 2117/2116 extender from the yahoo files section, and have it installed. But unless I'm not ...

Actually I'm not using the assembler, but have it. Kudos for taking the time to write one. I will most definately use it for future development.
But for right now I'm just hand coding the op codes into IR. Here's the jist of what I'm trying to do...
I'm attempting to write a protocol that will allow ...
