I actually do have both upgrades installed. I can still control the TV, but it requires switching to TV mode. The buttons programmed with TV function in the PVR mode don't work though.

External Function (RemoteMaster) problem
Hello,
I have a couple of URC-3161n's and now URC-8811 (using a parallel cable). Until recently I had everything working great - then I went and upgraded my TV. :)
I use my remotes mostly to run my MythTV PVR, but like to have the volume buttons, the power, and a few other buttons control the TV ...

Question about EEPROM size and URC-8811
I purchased a URC-8811 remote and have a question. I'm not sure of the size of the EEPROM. Is there a easy way to know? In IR, the possibilities are:
URC-881x_801x_601x (6_806_80)
URC-881x_801x_601x 1k (6_806_80)
URC-881x_801x_601x x2 2k (6_80_2x2)
URC-881x_801x_601x x3 2k (6_80_2x3)
URC-881x_801x ...
URC-881x_801x_601x (6_806_80)
URC-881x_801x_601x 1k (6_806_80)
URC-881x_801x_601x x2 2k (6_80_2x2)
URC-881x_801x_601x x3 2k (6_80_2x3)
URC-881x_801x ...

wow
johnsfine, I am impressed. Thats quite amazing that you can figure out how to translate the lirc output to find the OBC. I can see why no one has written a program to do it. There are way to many possibilities. lirc is great at what its for, but trying to use it to learn jp1 codes seems like nothing ...

Questions from a newbie (built in codes, keymoves, ...)
Hello everyone! First of all, thanks to all the people who have contributed here. I've been able to do a lot with my new remotes because of your contributions.
I recently got two URC-6131n's. They have been factory upgraded (have the pins, but not more memory). I was able to build a simple parallel ...
