Hi,
I used to use JP1 a while ago, until I got the URC-7556 and my old cable doesn't work any more. Anyway, what I learned here helped me to get the Grundig Freesat box working without a JP1 cable, so I've documented what I needed to get my Grundig box working here:

Perhaps someone who uses this info could make a device file available?

Your old cable probably still works but the URC7556 (AFAIK it's just a black version of the URC7555 with maybe some other minor differences) is a JP1.2 remote and requires a JP1.2 cable. Tommy Tyler is selling them - ask for the special smaller connector (to fit URC7555 and URC7556). You can build your own, if you prefer, and the plans are avavilable free (serial version here and there is also a USB version in the File Section).
If you wished to be altruistic and post an upgrade to the File Section you don't even need a cable. You could use "Devices.xls" to look up the protocol, device number etc. of SAT/1617 and then paste this info plus your info into RemoteMaster to create the upgrade.
