Dish DVR Remote Offset code ??

Post by batrad »

I'm trying to program a URC-9960 to control my Dish DVR 942. I have downloaded the Dish_921_Pbrown_Combined.txt from the file section, but its still unable to control my receiver (921 & 942 use the same remote)

My Dish Remote address is set to 08 (this allows for multiple Dish receivers in the house not to have interference from other UHF/IR remotes )

I have opened this file in KM, am stumped as to where to modify this file to specify my receiver home code ?

Thanks

You probably don't want to use that file since it uses the Device Combiner (and I'm not really sure why). I'd start with one of the plain 921 upgrade files and simply change the Unit Code on the Setup sheet to 8 for use with your 942.

The 721, 921 and 942 were odd birds in that they used two sets of "devices" for the commands. There was a protocol written a while back that dealt with this, but the built-in protocol will work fine.

If you're using something with a device combiner, search around for another one (several of the 721 files will work fine)
