What's necessary to reprogram a 15-2117 device to control 'numbered' Tivo units? As in, I've got two Tivo units in a rack and each is set to it's own "number". The Tivo peanut remotes are programmed accordingly and work as expected. I realize the 2117 won't have enough memory to 'learn' these. Is there an existing set of code already created that I can download via JP1?
Other than punching-through the volume up/down to send the TV's codes there's nothing else special I need these particular devices to perform.
Suggestions? THANKS! |

There's a bunch of TIVO upgrades in the file section, and if you open any of them up, you will see that they use the TIVO protocol, which, on the setup sheet (in EITHER KM or RM) offer you the option of selecting a "unit code". Unit code 0 will operate all TIVOs, whilst unit codes of 1-4 will operate TIVOs set to the matching unit codes.
The 2117 doesn't have any BUILT-IN setup codes that specify a particular unit code, so you will have to upload the upgrades via a JP1 cable. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Ah, that makes sense. The trick is wading through all the JP1 stuff just to get to what I'm after. It's truly amazing how much has been done with JP1. It's a bit hard to decide just how much one "needs to know" to get where they want to go! |
